- cGPSmapper
Although the original cGPSmapper has been fully "end of product life" we have an archived version available for download. This program helps create the final Garmin img files. - G-Raster
The G-Raster program turbocharges the process of creating raster Custom Maps for your Garmin GPS receiver. It lets you easily convert KMZ overlay files calibrated in Google Earth making them fully compatible with Garmin units while preserving the image's original quality. It also converts georeferenced map imagery, much of it freely available online, into the KMZ format used by compatible Garmin GPS units without the need for separate calibration in Google Earth. This is the best program hands down for creating custom imagery maps. - Garmin Map ID Finder
A simple program designed to tell you the map ID (product ID or family ID) of any map installed on your system. It also can extract the map id from any gmapsupp.img. - GEOTRANS
This tool released by the U.S. Army converts a large coordinates to a large array of other coordinates including UTM and MGRS and others. GEOTRANS (Geographic Translator) is an application program which allows you to easily convert geographic coordinates among a wide variety of coordinate systems, map projections, and datums. GEOTRANS runs in Microsoft Windows (95 and NT) and UNIX Motif environments. - GNIS Process
This standalone tool downloads and converts GNIS (Geographic Names Information System) data into GPX files or shapefiles that are ready to use for creating Garmin maps. This tool is offline due to changes in GNIS files. Follow this tutorial instead. - GPSFDshp2mp
This tool will convert ESRI shapefiles into polish text (.mp) files which cgpsmapper and GPSMapEdit can then use.
- GNIS to GPX File Converter
This tool will convert USGS GNIS (Geographic Names Information System) csv files to the more useful GPX format. This tool is great for adding POIs, such as summits, to your maps. This tool is offline due to changes in GNIS files. - gPicSync
A picture geocoding tool. With a track log from a GPS unit and a folder of pictures this program will automatically place the latitude, longitude, and elevation in the exif data for the pictures. Works great with Google Earth, Picasa, and Flickr. - GPS Sway
This downloadable tool allows easy converting of all latitude and longitude and UTM coordinates to each other as well as their different forms. Provides simple conversion for decimal, degrees minutes seconds, degrees minutes, and UTM coordinates. - GPS Visualizer
